HMAS Brisbane Dive Trip

The Brisbane is a perfect place to explore a sunken warship and work on your wreck diving skills. The HMAS Brisbane was scuttled in July 2005 and since then it has attracted schools of bait fish, a resident school of yellow tailed king fish (that I saw first hand when I was up there last week). A large bull ray, angler fish, lion fish, blemmies, nudibranchs, sea hares, squid, a small school of juvenile snapper, shovel nose ray, a couple of greasy cod, two eagle rays were hanging around and even an octopus has crawled into one of the pyrotechnic tubes left on the deck. I was quite amazed when I dived it how much growth was on it from such a short time in the water.

This dive is designed for all divers from open water level to experienced wreck divers. You could easily do the dive at the 18m mark although you would certainly get more out of it if you had an advanced certification so you could dive to the 27m sand line. For the wreck divers there is a heap of areas that you can explore and it was inside the mid deck that I saw the school of BIG king fish.
