| Port Jackson Shark TaggingAs you may know the divers at Abyss Scuba Diving are helping David Powter who is conducting a research project on Port Jackson sharks at the Central Coast Campus of the University of Newcastle. McLaughlin carried out the last serious research into this regular visitor to Sydney in 1969. These studies revealed that the Port Jackson Shark makes annual migrations of up to 850 kilometers along the coast. It is time we knew more about this annual visitor to Sydney. This information may be critical for the long term future of the species.
