Scuba Diving in Australia is world class and Sydney offers diving unmatched by any large city. The shore diving is second to none and the majority of diving in Sydney is done as shore dive. Abyss Scuba Diving have Diver Master led shore dives every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These are free to come on and you only pay for any equipment hire and any air fills.

If you would like to go to a different location from that nominated we can provide you with a private divemaser if you book 48 hours prior.

The dives leave the Dive Centre in Ramsgate at 10am each day (although it is wise to check the schedule in case specific days require variation to these times ).

To ensure your safety we require those divers who have not dived in the past 12 months and who have less than 20 dives experience, to undertake a scuba review prior to going on one of our shore dives. For this purpose we run refresher courses every month so if you have not dived for a while be safe and tune up your diving skills.

Please note these rates only apply to those who book & pay on line but not to those who book online and thenonly pay when they come to the dive center.

Both camera cost $33 per day which covers basic Flood insurance although the insurance comes with an excess of $169 which will be required to be paid if the camera’s are flooded.

There is an extra charge of $12 for the SD card (or micro SD for camera mask) which you can take away for downloading, printing or burning. These cards can be reused each time you use the camera.

"Red Indian Fish @ Bare Island"

Comments: I've dived with the outstanding Abyss Team at Bare Island many times but I must admit that the shore dives today at Bare Island were excellence. The water wasn't that cold & visibility was really good on both sides especially on the eastern side. It was on the western side of the island where I saw a Red Indian fish for the 1st time & I couldn't believe my eyes when I was 1st approaching it :D The depth & temperature were 10.5m & 19.4 respectively. Comments: I'm told that this is the best site in Sydney (and in fact in NSW) to see the sea dragons (weedy's) and its at the entrance to Botany Bay. The southern side of the bay’s entrance is home to the most number of sea dragons known from one location. we saw school of fishes, rays and also male weedy's carrying eggs onto the underside of the tail. "Shore Dive @ Hammerhead Point"

Comments: We were looking for the hammerhead sharks but they were moving north by the time we commenced diving. However, apart from the fishermen, the weather was great, no waves, condition was good with easy entry/exit point. A bit walking distance (not too far) from the car to the dive site but it was great exercise. We may missed the sharks but saw the wales torward the end of the second dive which was really spectacular. Abyss team has conducted the dives professionally & I had lot of fun. I'd love to...
