Jervis BayA group of us headed down to Jervis Bay last weekend to enjoy diving from the liveaboard MV Indulgence. The boat was lovely and Annie and Adrian really looked after us. The food was always sensational and plentiful, I think we spent more time eating than diving! The first day started off brilliantly with a pod of dolphins playing around the boat. Although the water was a tad chilly (someone mentioned 13 degrees) and we were all wearing wetsuits, we managed to get quite a bit of diving done. Three and a half dives on Saturday and two on the Sunday. The half being on the firefly plane, viz. on this dive was about 0m and very milky and I don’t think anyone found the wreck. After 10 minutes we gave up looking. But a baby PJ was found down there in the gloom. The other dives were very nice with good viz. and heaps of PJs, tons of weedys (more than Sutherland Point, they were everywhere) a shovel nose shark, giant cuttlefish, the most gigantic bull ray I have ever seen, wobbiegongs, and the usual array of big schools of fish, the always present blue groper, leatherjackets octopus etc. Most who have dived JB before know how amazing the whole underwater scenery is down there, big cliffs, drop offs and huge boulders. We had a great bunch of people on the trip, and between dives we spent our time, eating (of course), the sports fans among us, made sure they were in front of the telly for the football finals, and other wise we just lounged around the boat relaxing and chatting. Andrew and I took some video footage both under and above the water while we were away, if anyone is interested in a copy drop a video off at the shop and I will make a copy for you. Or I have a tape here to borrow if you want to view and return it. ![]() |
