Product Details

Hideaway Island Resort is easy to get it with direct flight as Port Vila is the capital of Vanuatu and is paridice for scuba divers. Hideways Island is in Mele bay a 15 min road trip & 5 min ferry trip out of the main area of Port Vila. With the ferry running 24 hours it is easy to go to and from town, while enjoying the Vanuatu experience on a little island. It is a great little coral island with snorkeling and diving right off the shore line.

Surrounded by clear turquoise waters and coral reefs, Hideaway Island is one of the few places where you can hand feed hundreds of brightly coloured tame fish right off the shore.

The diving is mainly reef diving and most of the sites are quite close so done as 2 single dives each day allowing for relaxing between dives while soaking up the island holiday. If you are not a diver you can go sailing, snorkeling, check out the water falls or even play a game of golf.

Accommodation:

Accommodation on Hideaway Island has been built with a traditional Melanesian flavour, scattered amongst the largely untouched jungle and tropical plants that cover the island. The style & standard ranges from private ocean view bungalows overlooking the water to quad share dormitories with shared facilities. The restaurant and bar is very casual with a sandy bottom feel

"Best Night Diving Ever!!"

Comments: The most amazing night dives right off the resort beach. Keep an eye out for the electric mussels - like creatures from Dr Who. And, you can have a margarita waiting for you when you get out of the water. The restaurant in the resort was fantastic value and the food superb. Definitely try the steak. Ask about upgrades to bungalows, offer to share with a few others to keep the costs down.

Comments: Hideaway was a great start to the best dives I've ever done, and want to do more! The food and staff at Hideaway were fantastic! The night shore dives were amazing and worth doing multiple times. But... the Coolidge extension was the best part of the trip. I could definitely have spent 2 weeks on her. The night dive, descending without torches on, was magic and there is so much to explore on and in the ship that five days just wasn't enough. I'll be back next year.

Comments: I had a fabulous week at Hideaway Island! The diving was spectacular - so many things to see. The warm water temperatures made for very pleasant diving. The staff at Hideaway were very friendly, helpful and loads of fun, especially the guys that worked at the local dive shop - hilarious! The food was FANTASTIC!! both delicious and decent portions. I would also recommend doing the Santo extension if you can. The Coolidge was amazing. Above all what, or rather who, made the trip so great was Carl ... More details
