Oceanic SCUBA Mask with Integrated Head-Up Display

Military Special Forces won't get in the water without it and soon you can dive with it. We’re talking about the Oceanic SCUBA Mask with Integrated Head-Up Display DATAMASK HUD – featuring an advanced air-integrated dive computer – built directly into the mask!

The Oceanic DATAMASK contains a miniature liquid crystal display (LCD) panel, proprietary Digital Optic System, microprocessor, depth transducer, wireless cylinder pressure receiver, diver replaceable battery, and controlling software. The miniature LCD allows you to keep your eyes focused on the dive while presenting critical dive data including: current depth, elapsed dive time, cylinder pressure, and dive time remaining. The Digital Optic System provides a clear, highly magnified image of the LCD, which is viewable regardless of environmental conditions and may be seen clearly by the vast majority of people, regardless of vision.

"Just got myself one"

Comments: I could not resist such cool technology so I had to get myself one. It is better than I ever imagined. I am now not sure how I dived without one. Diving is so much more relaxing and when I am instructing it just makes so much care free as it eliminates another thing that you have to worry about and leaves you free to concentrate on the students. Once you have dived it a couple of times you won’t go back!

"Good for Photographers"

Comments: When I first used it I hated it, but the 2nd time I noticed how comfortable it was and became used to using the display instead of checking my computer. When I went back to my normal mask I found it annoying to have to lift my dive computer to check the details. It would definitely be good for the photographer so you can concentrate on the fun things and still stay safe.

Comments: Great idea, easy to use. Instant data at your eyeballs. At night it's a winner as no need to activate your light on your computer or torch your gauge. Leads to better safety on deeper or nitrox dives as can closely monitor your depth without forever glancing at your computer. Two improvements would be for Oceanic to angle the viewing window so that the bottom line is easier to read and increase the field of view of the mask as it is marginally restrictive compared to the Shadow for example.
