Our dive courses and diving internships follow the logical flow of your own personal leadership development. Either select the individual courses you want to attend, select a complete packaged internship option or email us dive@abyss.com.au with your specific details and we will design a package to meet your needs.

This internship does not include accommodation, or personal snorkelling and saftey equipment. This can be selected as an additional option if required at time of booking. Please see options above.

For non divers wanting to begin a career as a PADI Divemaster

This PADI Divemaster Internship includes the following PADI courses:
  • Open Water Diver Course
  • Advanced Open Water Dive Course
  • Emergency First Response (First Aid) Course
  • Rescue Diver Course
  • Divemaster Course
  • + PADI Divemaster Application Fee
  • + loads of additional experience within Sydney's leading training facility.
...and also includes full tuition, SCUBA equipment rental, course expenses, core course manuals, pool entry, light lunches on dive days, all certification and PADI fees, certification photo, and a Rescue in-water pocket mask.
 

What is not included?

Accommodation | The accommodation is located about 10m from the dive centre. It includes a light breakfast. Please see the options above for prices.  Twin share rooms may be co-ed when numbers dictate.
 
Snorkelling and Safety Equipment | As a PADI Divemaster candidate you are required to have your own personal snorkelling and safety equipment. If you dont have it already, you may purchase it at a discount rate when you book this internship.
 
The pack includes a wetsuit, boots, fins, mask, snorkel, gloves, safety whistle, surface safety marker and dive knife. This will be yours to keep after you finish your internship!
 
 

Cancellation Policy: Internship deposits are non-refundable and help cover the costs associated with the substantial amount of resources that go into booking and planning your internship. Deposits also cover the cost of any sent PADI e-learning and digital PADI Materials, which are non-refundable once sent to your email account. Once a Deposit is made your position on the Internship is secured and locked in, which means that other candidates are unable to take your place.

Accommodation
We have accommodation available for all our candidates which is available over the duration of your program. The accommodation is located 10minute walk from the dive centre.

Candidates are advised to arrive in Sydney a few days prior to the start of their program to settle in prior to the start of their program.

Costs are only during the set time frame of your internship.

Oceanic Scuba Equipment Service Technician Course.

The ability to Service regulators and other dive equipment is a handy asset for any dive professional and it will make you considerably more employable.

Do the Oceanic Equipment service Technicians course as an add on to your Internship and along with becoming an Oceanic Service Technician.
 

PADI Master Scuba Diver Option

Master Scuba Diver is PADI’s highest nonprofessional recreational diving certification. This is what the best of the best reach for, because the dive possibilities are endless. Prestige isn’t easy to earn, but it is certainly well worth it. As a Master Scuba Diver, you’ll have a whole new level of training and experience. So add this option to your internship and as well as becoming a PADI Master Scuba Diver you will be trained to be a PADI Enriched Air Diver, PADI underwater navigation specialist, PADI Search & Recovery specialist, a PADI Equipment Specialist as well as obtaining your PADI Peak Performance Buoyancy speciality.

These 5 courses normally cost a total of $1,110 but as part of your internship the special price is only $400.

Comments: I did my DM over xmas, and enjoyed it immensely. The instructing staff were very friendly, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about diving in general. The accommodation was ideal being just down the road from the shop. I do think the PADI online theory is not up to standard with regards to taking in the information required, and too much emphasis was placed on quantity of study as opposed to quality.
