Build your qualifications while gaining valuable experience

This 18-week plus Dive Instructor Internship program (depending on your starting experience level) is invaluable in terms of learning and employment. You will complete the Internship program as Master Scuba Diver Trainer (MSDT) Instructor with at least 25 certifications and already have a head start as a highly employable dive professional. By the end of the program you are no longer an Instructor who has just finished your IE (Instructor Exam), but rather you have hands-on experience teaching and tackling real-life challenges in a professional environment. The advantage of having this experience when you are seeking employment as a dive professional cannot be overstated.

Candidates must:

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Have been a certified diver for at least 3 months
  • Have a current medical less than 12 months old
  • Have all books requested by the Course Director (as per materials)
  • Submit copies of all dive certifications

Cancellation Policy

Internship deposits are non-refundable to help cover the costs associated with the substantial amount of resources that go into booking and planning your internship. Deposits also cover any cost associated with PADI e-learning and PADI digital materials, which are non-refundable once sent to your e-mail account. Once a deposit is made your position in the Internship is secured and locked in, which means other candidates are unable to take your place.

Internship Work Experience On The Great Barrier Reef

Instructor Internship work experience includes:

2 weeks liveaboard work experience on the Great Barrier Reef in Cairns, Queensland

  • Return air fares from Sydney to Cairns
  • 2 weeks accommodation and food while on-board
  • Dive crew t-shirt to wear while on-board

Hands-on experience working in Australia's leading dive centre

  • Working as an Instructor with a Staff Instructor as your mentor

Oceanic Scuba Equipment Service Technician Course

The ability to service regulators and other dive equipment is a handy asset for any dive professional and it will make you considerably more employable.

Sign-up for the Oceanic Equipment Service Technician's course as an add-on to your Internship and along with becoming an Oceanic Service Technician it is simple to upgrade to a PADI Equipment Speciality Instructor.


Exclusions

Dive Equipment

Dive equipment plays an important role in your success as a professional diver. Candidates must have their own dive equipment for the internship program. If you do not own your dive equipment:

  • We have full scuba packages that you can purchase, starting from $2392
  • Equipment rental is also available:
    • Full-time students: $99 per week
    • Part-time students: price upon request

Accommodation

Accommodation is available for our candidates over the duration of their Internship program. The accommodation is conveniently located 10 minutes walk from the dive centre. Costs are only for the set time frame of the Internship program. Candidates are advised to arrive in Sydney a few days prior to the start date of their program to give them time to settle in before the internship begins. Availability is limited so make sure you book ASAP!

Note: twin share rooms may be co-ed depending on occupancy.
