Comments: With my dynamic work schedule the team at Abyss have been fantastic in assisting me with my Divemaster Course. I highly recommend the Aybss team for their professional instructors, up to date equipment and the diverse about of courses available to assist on with and subsequently learn from. Thanks!

Comments: The PADI DM Training Program through Abyss changed my life! Working with the guys in the Abyss Pro Team, I was prepared for everything. Since completing my training I have worked in dive operations all over the pacific… I love every single minute of it! Thanks again ABYSS. :)

Comments: The Divemaster course run by Abyss is challenging but by far the most rewarding course I have ever done. What I liked most about it is that Peter didn’t just teach us knowledge from the textbooks, but also from personal experience. We also learnt a lot about local diving conditions, dive sites and weather that isn’t even written up in textbooks, yet it’s something we use every time we dive. Leading the first club dive was nerve racking (‘hope I’m not going to lose anybody’) but also a great experience. Having done lots of dives I was taking a lot of what I saw for granted… seeing weedy seadragons or yet another friendly blue groper making puppy eyes at you wasn’t as thrilling as it used to be. Yet after taking some newly certified divers for a dive and seeing them get so excited about what they saw (despite the 5m vis), I felt like it was the first time I was seeing everything myself, and it made me appreciate just how lucky I am to be able to dive (yes, even in 5m vis!) In addition to the dive theory and skills, I learnt invaluable information from leading dives: like how to avoid losing fins, helping others with buoyancy problems and above all…. patience!! The instructors I dived with also gave me lots of advice from personal experience, for example how to manage a large group of divers, how to communicate more effectively... and very importantly, how to have fun. I know all this knowledge will make me a better diver and buddy, and hopefully a better leader not just underwater but in other areas of my life. I’d recommend it to anyone who loves diving, whether they want to make a career out of it or not.
