The PADI Weedy Seadragon Diver Specialty course has 4 main purposes:
To introduce and expand the students knowledge of the Weedy Seadragon, its appearance, habitat, distribution, difference between the sexes, mating habits, reproduction, protected species status and its future survival.
To familiarise the student with techniques for finding, identifying and responsibly interacting with weedy seadragons.
To introduce students to the need for survey data and public awareness of weedy seadragons, current surveys being conducted, methods of collecting information and what to do with information collected.
To promote awareness and support for PADI Project AWARE
