Australia has many unique and bizarre creatures that are not found anywhere else in the world. The famous weedy seadragon is probably one of the strangest creatures you have ever seen under the water. Related to the seahorse and pipefish weedy seadragons are not found anywhere else in the world. Abyss Scuba Diving offers a one day course on PADI Weedy Seadragon Diver Specialty course including two dives with these beautiful creatures.

The PADI Weedy Seadragon Diver Specialty course has 4 main purposes:

1. To introduce and expand the students knowledge of the Weedy Seadragon, its appearance, habitat, distribution, difference between the sexes, mating habits, reproduction, protected species status and its future survival.
2. To familiarise the student with techniques for finding, identifying and responsibly interacting with weedy seadragons.
3. To introduce students to the need for survey data and public awareness of weedy seadragons, current surveys being conducted, methods of collecting information and what to do with information collected.
4. To promote awareness and support for PADI Project AWARE

A great 1 day course, cost $130 (plus any hire gear) includes tuition, 2 dives and PADI Weedy Seadragon Diver Specialty course Certification fees.
