Forster Shark Diving Trip

Forster Shark Diving Trip
Forster Shark Diving Trip

Shark diving weekend 19-20 November

Forster is located approximately 350km north of Sydney. The area is renowned for always having Grey Nurse sharks throughout the year. If you want to dive with sharks this is the place to do it. There always seems to be a high level of excitement on board a dive boat heading out for a shark dive. Divers who have never dived with sharks before are nervous and excited at the same time. Experienced shark divers seem calmer, but still look excited. Your first dive with the grey nurse sharks at Forster is one that you will never forget.

To do this trip you must be Advanced Certified

madic point grey nurse sharks

Our weeknd trip to Forster has a lot to offer.
Apart from sharks, the diving around Forster and Seal Rocks has a lot to offer. The water is usually clear, and a whole range of other sea creatures inhabit the waters. Wobbegongs, bull rays, turtles, beautiful sponge gardens gorgonians, morays, groper, the occasional marlin, schools of bream and yellowtail, plus much more. There are numerous dive sites to choose from up at Forster and Seal Rocks, The Pinnacle is a dive that has to be done to be believed. Ranging from 24-40m it has large gutters with sharks cruising around, wobbegongs laying peacefully on the bottom, huge schools of fish hanging motionlessly in the water, giant bull rays. Last time I dived the Pinnacle a huge turtle swam past us while we were doing our safety stop. Another great dive is Jimmy’s Cave at Edith Breakers (10-36m), an underwater cave system and giant swim throughs, it is very spectacular and it has to be dived to be believed. A lot of these dives are deep dives and you must be Advance Open Water Certified before comming on this trip.

Comments: I have been up to foster a few times to do the Satara in doing so I have had the chance to dive Jimmy's Cave and the gutters what an awesome experience the last time I was there we had a seal who was very jealous that all us divers were focused on the sharks.
