All I want for Christmas is… A FLYBOARD!

A typical Diver Propulsion Vehicle

Diver Propulsion Vehicles (DPVs) are underwater toys that have been around for quite a while and are starting to become more and more popular with both divers and snorkelers as they get lighter, faster and cheaper! There are many different sizes and styles of DPVs with many different brands, each offering their own pros and cons.

The Bladefish DPV

Here at Abyss we use the Bladefish DPVs. These are awesome for our shore diving. They are light, easy to carry, quick to charge and a lot cheaper than the bigger ones. We have these available to buy and rent on our shore dives, so come try one out and experience the fun of DPV diving!!

Zapata have taken it one step further and created something that will now be on everyone’s wish list… THE FLYBOARD! If anyone remembers Marty Mcfly’s hover-board and the disappointment that it never came to be a reality, well finally the future is here! You have to watch this video, it will blow you away and have you saving every spare penny to get one.

Check out the air!!

Basically the Flyboard is a bolt-on attachment that connects to a jet ski. A flexible 9-metre hose connects to the jet boots – and the hand controls come out of the jet boot platform to propel you through the air!!

Don’t know about you guys, but we WANT ONE!!
