PADI Equipment Specialty Course

equp01

Scuba diving is an equipment intensive sport and the more scuba divers know about how their equipment works the more they are able to enjoy their diving and the more comfortable they are with it, the more performance they can get from it and the better they can care for it.

The Padi Equipment Specialist course familiarizes divers with the operation and maintenance of their dive equipment.

Whether it’s a blown 0-ring, a leaking regulator problem, wetsuit tear or a broken fin strap. no one wants to miss a dive. As a PADI Equipment Specialist, divers are prepared for the basic equipment maintenance, can care for and make adjustments to everyday dive equipment problems. In addition, the diver learns background information about how their gear works, how to repair it and information to help them with their equipment investment.
The course takes a full day and is run  on either a Saturday or a Sunday.

The course is made up of 3 components:

1.   The theory, principles and operation of diving equipment

2.   Routine, recommended care and maintenance procedures, and equipment storage

3.   Common problems with equipment and recommended professional maintenance procedures (May include a demonstration of repair procedures.)

4.   Simple suggestions for comfortable equipment configurations and an introduction to new equipment

The PADI Equipment Specialist  from Abyss Scuba Diving now comes with the PADI Equipment Specialist Touch, a new tool to assist in teaching the PADI Equipment Specialist course. The Equipment Specialist Touch is an interactive, multimedia, tablet-based program that goes over the features and functions of current dive equipment.
PADI Equipment Speciality Touch

In the Touch format this product is available on all iOS and Android tablets and has short video clips integrated, along with interactive images.

Because Abyss Scuba Diving believe the PADI Equipment Specialty Course is such a benefit to its divers it now offers any diver who buys a dive gear package from Abyss a PADI Equipment Specialty Course for only $1.  Abyss see this as an investment in maximizing the enjoyment from their diving for their customers.
