The Fun Part

Brush up on your scuba knowledge and skills. Improve your diving ability and prepare your scuba gear for your next vacation or diving holiday.

What you Learn

You go over scuba knowledge you learned during your initial training with the Reactive elearning on your phone, tablet or PC. Then, practise fundamental dive skills in a pool or a confined water area.:

  • Safe diving practices
  • Dive planning fundamentals
  • Problem management
  • Breathing air at depth
  • Recreational diving and dive tables: dive planning

After you complete the knowledge assessment, you go through the Confined Water Skills Preview. You review information about each skill, why it's important, and points to remember when performing it, and a short video clip. Completing this section just before practising basic skills is a great way to refresh your knowledge of how each skill is performed.

  • Just haven’t scuba dived in a while and want to get familiar again
  • Are a PADI Open Water Diver course referral student who wants a refresher before making your open water training dives
  • You are a non-PADI diver who wants to be refreshed into the PADI system before undertaking a PADI continuing education course.
  • Are a PADI Scuba Diver who wants to upgrade to Open Water Diver

The Scuba Gear You Use

All the dive gear (except for gloves) needed for the refresher is supplied as part of the course.

Many divers coming back into diving require new equipment and we offer as a FREE service to our reactivate students an obligation-free equipment consult with one of our PADI Equipment Speciality Instructors who can advise you on what best suits your needs.

The Learning Materials You Need

Quickly and effectively review scuba fundamentals with PADI's online Reactivate eLearning. Begin by answering a few questions related to dive safety, problem management and your dive trip planning. For example::

  • What are the five steps in a pre-dive safety check?
  • What is the maximum depth limit for all recreational divers?
  • What are the signs and symptoms of decompression sickness?
  • At 12 metres, a diver runs out of air. Her buddy is more than 20 metres away. What should she do?

Prerequisites

To take Reactivate, you must have

  • a scuba diver certification from any certifying agency (PADI, SSI, NAUI, RAID)
  • Be at least 12 years old
