RAID Diver Certification

Wanting to upgrade from RAID to PADI

SSI & PADI dive certification

 RAID or PADI

The main diving certification agencies are PADI, SSI, BSAC, SDI, TDI, RAID and NAUI.  In total there are approximately 27 Scuba Diving training certification agencies with PADI certify more divers than all other certifying agencies combined. RAID is one of the smaller and lesser-known certifying agencies.

Because PADI is the larger and better resourced certifying agency it qualifications are recognised widely throughout the world and is certified as a PADI diver give you many more opportunities as a diver than any other option. For this reason many divers want to upgrade from SSI and the other minor diving certification agencies to PADI. Abyss Scuba Diving offers a range of options for those who wish to upgrade their current certification to PADI.

PADI Diving Certification Agencies

PADI

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) is the world's largest diving organizations. It has succeeded largely as its programs make diving accessible to the average person, plus it gets students into the water quickly. With more than forty years experience and 5,300 dive centres and resorts worldwide, PADI training materials and services let you experience scuba diving from nearly anywhere. PADI has the broadest range of programs and offers the broadest range of diving opportunities

Today PADI issues approximately 950,000 certifications a year, of which approximately 550,000 are "entry level" certifications. Over the years since its formation, PADI has become a dominating force in scuba diver training; it certifies approximately 70% of divers in the United States and approximately 55% of divers worldwide.

RAID Diving Certification Agencies

The Rebreather Association of International Divers (RAID) is a new name for many people. RAID was founded in 2007 for the training for rebreathers. RAID has since extended its scope to include open circuit scuba training and training for both recreational and technical diving sectors as well as snorkelling and freediving. Raid remains one of the lesser known and smaller certifying agencies.
