With a maximum of four students to each of our instructors, you will gain confidence and experience unmatched by any other dive lessons. With this approach, your instructor can more easily target specific areas that you need attention to, rather than wasting your time while they concentrate on other students. As a result you will get more time having fun diving, finishing the course a much better diver. This lets you complete your course with only 2 days of in-water training.

(note: if you have a group of more than three you can still learn together all we do is add another instructor to keep the student to instructor ratio at a maximum of 3 students for each instructor)

We have been teaching in the area every week for 10 years and have never seen a dangerous shark. Although the risks of encountering a dangerous shark in the areas are negligible, to ensure your peace of mind, we teach all our open water courses under the protection of a Shark Shield.

eLearning Option (At home in your own time)

Learning to scuba dive has never been more convenient!

This is quick and easy with only small classes (3 students per instructor). You will maximise your learning while giving you great flexibility.

Designed with the busy diver in mind, eLearning is all about convenience – the opportunity to begin and continue diver education beginning on the internet and continuing through PADI Dive Centers and Resorts. Through an interactive web-based program new students will read, hear and see the same material other student divers receive from interacting with the PADI Open Water Diver manual and Video or Multimedia Simply sign up online and begin your eLearning (it takes 8-10 hours to complete this program online). Book the days you would like to do your in-water sessions then complete your elearning theory online. Your in water training is reduced to 2 days because we have no more than 4 students for each of our instructors, eliminating waiting time like in standard groups of 8 or more! You will then be a diver, ready to enjoy this fantastic sport.

Traditional Option (manual, DVD and Class room)

Sign up on line and come in or have us post out your theory work (Manual & DVD). You watch the DVD and read the manual in your own time. After that you need to come in and do a days theory.

Finally your in-water training is completed in just 2 more days. This is reduced to 2 days because we have no more than 4 students for each of our instructors, eliminating time waiting in groups of 8 or more. You will then be a diver, ready to enjoy this fantastic sport.

For safety, all students complete the below Scuba Medical Questionnaire that asks about medical conditions that could be a problem while diving. If none of these apply, you sign the form and you're ready to start. If any of these apply to you, as a safety precaution your physician must assess the condition as it relates to diving and sign a medical form that confirms that you're fit to dive.

Please note a diving medical is nevertheless strongly recommended as the diving medical may uncover conditions or issues you may not be aware of and which could expose them to the risk of serious injury or death while diving.

To become a scuba diver, you need to be comfortable in the water and have basic swimming skills. Your instructor will have you do a 200 metre swim or 300 metre mask, snorkel and fins swim and a ten minute float to determine if you have basic swimming abilities. You should also be in good overall general health, particularly your respiratory and circulatory systems.

In addition to the online knowledge development portion of the PADI Open Water Diver course, you’ll need to complete inwater training.

Padi Open Water manual for those doing the traditional course but for those doing elearning you will recieve 7 years access to the online eLearning as a referance material.

Dive medical in accordance with Australian Standard, A.S 4005-1 (1992).
Some medical conditions may prevent you from diving. For example: heart disease asthma, epilepsy or diabetes. If you are unsure of a particular medical condition, please check with us prior to reservation.
The minimum age to start this course is 12 yrs. Children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or adult over the age of 18.

Please note Children between 12 - 14 years of age will qualify as Junior Openwater Divers & must dive with an adult certified diver Divers.

Comments: Great course - a mixed group of 4 from 4 different countries (UK, US, Aus and Iraq) with two fantastic instructors, Emma and Damien. The group might not have known each other at the start but after two days together in the water, car and pub i knew my boyles law from my boils, my "up" from my "ok" (hand signals that is), seen a weedy sea dragon (it'll make sense on the course), refreshed my geography, history and economic views, had loads of fun.........oh and gained my open water. Comments: Had an AWESOME two days with our instructor Cem. What a champion - he really took the time to attend to every question we had about this new sport. The small groups made a huge difference in terms of learning, and the friendly staff made a huge difference in terms of having fun. I have already recommended this course to all my friends and I can highly recommend it to anyone who is looking to open themselves up to a whole new world.
