Guided Shore Dives

 

Sydney has world-class scuba diving that is unrivaled by any large city. The shore diving is second to none and most diving in Sydney is done from the shore. Abyss Scuba Diving has FREE Divemaster-guided shore dives every Friday, Saturday and Sunday. These are free to join and you only pay for any equipment hire and any air fills.y air fills.

 

Please note:

  • These rates only apply to those who book and pay online but not to those who book online and then only pay when they come to the dive centre.
  • Rental equipment is to be collected at the dive centre at Ramsgate and we require proof of certification at the time of collection.
  • Divers are required to pick up and return their rental equipment to the dive shop. Divemasters will not take it to the site or return it to the dive centre for you.
  • If you have not dived within 6 monhs and done the than 20 dives then we strongly advise you undertate a refresher (reactivate) course.
  • Transport is not included for this dive. If you do not have your own transport then, because of social distancing the best option is an Uber to and from the site.
  • For all cancellations, there is a $25 administration fee. There is no refund once the equipment leaves the dive centre!
Boat Diving Package

Abyss Scuba Diving offer a dive equipment rental program that enables scuba diving club members to hire their diving gear for less than $50 per day. With the dive gear rental card, how good can diving get.

Ship Rock & Oak Park - Shore Dive Friday 21 Jan 2022

Located on Ship Rock Road, it wont take long to see how this site got its name. The only way to dive it, is high tide. Dropping over the wall, takes you into another world, full of pineapple fish, angler fish, decorator crabs (if you can spot them), cuttlefish and much more.

Sutherland Point - Shore Dive Saturday 22 Jan 2022

This is a double dive and leaves the shop at 10am with the location of the site is in the Captain Cook National Park at Kurnell. Sutherland Point is a prime site for seeing Weedy Sea Dragon, and is an extremely interesting site which always shows up something new. it is an easy walk to the entry point with toilet facilities at the site. There as a nat park entry fee. Be at the store at more than 30 mins before to collect your gear and meet your dive masters before driving yourself to the site.

Need to be in twin, side mount or on a rebreather. The boat will pick up outside kurnell national park (easy walk on the boat) and drop off just past the leap. Use the tide to drift back to the monument and exit like a shore dive

Leap to Steps - Shore Dive Sunday 23 Jan 2022

This site is one of our favourites and is usually conducted as a drift dive with the incoming tide. Step off the rocks into the big blue and let your self be taken along the wall, looking for weedy seadragons, rays and Pj’s. Its always good to get to the site early to get set up and then park your car at the exit point. The second dive will be held at The Steps. Be at the store at more than 30 mins before to collect your gear and meet your dive masters before driving yourself to the site. Do not forget to join us after the dive at the shop for our Beer and Pizza session from 3pm to 5pm.
