Complete Your PADI IDC with Just One Week Away from Work.
The PADI IDC is a professional training course which fully qualifies you to be a PADI Dive Professional. Due to its standardised nature, an IDC allows the diver to become part of a global diving community and earn their certification and other ratings no matter where in the world they did their training.
Some PADI Course Directors take two or more weeks for their IDCs to prepare you for your PADI Instructor exam. For many candidates, this amount of time off work is difficult. With the use of modern technology, Abyss Scuba Diving in Sydney now offers an IDC, which requires you to take only a week off work.
This is an amazing opportunity for those who want to become PADI-certified professionals. The IDC is a comprehensive and standardized training course that will allow you to join the global diving community. With only one week needed off from work, this is a perfect solution for many people.
Our aim is to enhance your online diver eLearning experience and improve your understanding of teaching scuba diving. Through our unique program, we guarantee that you will become a competent and confident PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor while decreasing the time that you need to dedicate to in-person training at our dive centre.
To achieve this goal, our PADI IDC is made up of four components:
- Online Component. Composed of PADI IDC eLearning followed by Live online IDC using Zoom.
- PADI IDC eLearning
Complete the PADI IDC eLearning courses before starting your Live IDC. The PADI IDC online will take 7 to 8 hours to complete. There are sixteen eLearning sections to read, each having a knowledge review. The eLearning covers sixteen subjects ranging from how to conduct and schedule all PADI courses, managing risk, classroom, and in-water training, how to run a diving business, dive theory for professionals and more. - Live online IDC Session
The Scuba Dive Online IDC takes place over 4 days, 3 hours per day, starting at 6:00 pm Sydney time. Before the first session, candidates are required to sit a 2-hour theory assessment test to enable the Course Directors to determine candidates' theoretical knowledge levels.
Each of the four days, one of our Course Directors will be hosting an interactive workshop. These live remote sessions are a terrific opportunity to get to know your fellow students and to prepare you to maximize your learning at Abyss Scuba Diving in Sydney.
- Classroom Component. The Live Online sessions allow the classroom training to focus on developing the candidate’s real-life teaching techniques in a human classroom environment.
- Pool Segment. You will learn to demonstrate all the scuba skills and techniques and learn how to share those skills with your students. You will learn how to give a descriptive, thorough briefing and how to problem-solve with students who may have difficulties while you are undertaking scuba courses.
- Open Water Segment. You will be learning to draw everything together and develop your techniques to ensure that you can run safe, fun-filled scuba diving training courses for your student divers.
