You can be a good fit for this trip as a newly certified Open Water diver. You do not need Advanced certification or years of experience. There is no fixed logged-dive minimum advertised for every guest. That does not mean every diver is automatically ready for every site: your training, confidence, recent experience and conditions all matter.

Yes — it can be something to work towards. The seven-dive program is for certified divers, not an Open Water course. Complete your certification before travel and ask your instructor about any preparation. Speak with us before paying while your course is still ahead, so we can check the timing and explain the booking conditions.

No. Open Water certification or a recognised equivalent is the entry certification for the holiday. Advanced Open Water can be a useful next step, but the A$449 trip add-on is optional. You can enjoy the seven-dive holiday without adding another course. Read about the optional add-on.

Tell us — that is a useful starting point for planning. Clear briefings, buddy arrangements and repeated guided dives are part of this trip. There is no need to pretend you are more confident than you feel. Share particular concerns about buoyancy, breathing, equalising or boat entries before booking.

No. The holiday centres on guided reef diving, with site and route choices matched to training, experience and conditions. Open Water divers stay within their certification limits. You are not expected to enter an overhead environment or follow a deeper group to enjoy the trip. Specific sites, including Paul’s Rock, depend on the day’s assessment.

You should not dive when you are not comfortable or fit to do so. The planned night dive follows two daytime dives and is one of the seven included dives. Tell the team about first-night-dive nerves so they can explain the plan and assess readiness.

Discuss sitting out a dive and the practical arrangements with the team. Ask about any effect on your package before booking; do not assume an unused dive can be swapped or refunded.

That can be a great way to get comfortable and give yourself something to look forward to now. Ask your course instructor which local dives or skills would help you most. The Beginner Dive Calendar is a useful place to start. Additional training is based on what you need, not a blanket requirement to complete Advanced first.

Tell us your last-dive date and previous experience before paying. A refresher, practice dives or individual guiding may be needed. The local team has additional requirements after a long break; Abyss will confirm the preparation, any guide requirement and cost for your situation before travel.

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome. The team helps with buddy arrangements, and the pre-trip meeting lets you meet people before you fly. Normal buddy procedures still apply underwater; group support is not a promise of a private instructor for every diver.

The advertised accommodation price is twin-share. We will try to arrange a suitable room match. Ask us to confirm the rooming and cost before paying, including the options if no suitable match is available.

Tanks and weights are included; you can arrange hire for other equipment. You do not need to buy everything for your first dive holiday. Tell us what you own, your sizes and what you need to hire.

Work through a checklist with the team: mask, snorkel, fins and boots where needed; wetsuit; buoyancy compensator, regulator and gauges; dive computer; and the torch and safety equipment required for the planned dives. We will confirm suitable equipment, availability and the hire total before travel. Your individual written booking confirmation records any included hire.

You will stay at Reflections Retreat Vanuatu on Havannah Harbour, on the mainland of Efate. The price includes four nights of twin-share accommodation, with diving around Moso Island and the Havannah region. The retreat is not in Port Vila or on Moso Island.

Abyss confirms your rooming arrangements in writing. Ask us about a single room, accessibility or any specific accommodation needs before paying. You can see the property on the Reflections Retreat Vanuatu website.

Contact us before booking either option. A non-diving partner needs a separate price and confirmed inclusions, including any boat or snorkelling arrangements. Junior Open Water divers and divers with restricted certifications need an agreed plan covering certification limits, supervision, buddy arrangements and rooming. We will confirm whether your chosen departure can accommodate those needs.

Four continental breakfasts and four dinners are included. The dinners are the welcome meal, night-dive BBQ, hosted dinner and farewell dinner. Between-dive snacks are included, but lunches and drinks outside the stated inclusions are extra.

Tell us about dietary requirements or allergies before paying so the team can confirm what can be provided. Do not rely on an unconfirmed request being catered for on arrival.

A$1,995 is the twin-share land package, not an all-inclusive airfare price. Add return flights, suitable travel insurance, any personal equipment hire, lunches, extra drinks and personal spending. A single room or optional course costs extra.

Ask for the rooming and hire total for your dates. Any departure-specific charges also need confirmation in your written trip information. See the full inclusions and exclusions.

Pay a $500 deposit to book. For bookings made more than 60 days before departure, the balance is due 60 days before departure. For bookings made within that 60-day window, pay the remainder within seven days of booking.

The remaining balance on the A$1,995 base package is A$1,495, before extras. Contact the team first for a departure less than seven days away.

Flights are not included. Wait for Abyss’s written confirmation that the departure and accommodation are secured. We then advise the nominated flights; you book and pay for your airfare and your Abyss instructor travels with the group from Sydney.

Check the baggage allowance on the actual fare, including any allowance needed for dive gear. Included transfers cover the nominated group flights, not every arrival time. Speak with us before booking a different route or travelling from another city.

Your booking and the trip’s final operational confirmation are different steps. Abyss confirms the departure and accommodation in writing once minimum numbers and supplier arrangements are secured. Do not buy flights just because you have paid a deposit. Ask the team for the current confirmation status of your preferred date.

Ask the team to confirm your proposed dates and arrangements before booking extra nights or different flights. The Long Weekend covers four nights and transfers for the nominated group flights. Additional accommodation, transfers, activities and diving are not automatically included.

A Santo or other extension is a separate arrangement, with its own flights, operator requirements and costs. We can discuss the options without changing the meaning of this seven-dive package.

Weather and sea conditions can change the sites, sequence or availability of dives and other activities. The local team and your instructor make the operational decisions; a particular site, visibility figure or wildlife sighting is not guaranteed.

Ask about the applicable cancellation, changed-itinerary and unused-service terms before paying, and arrange insurance with the cover you need. We do not promise a replacement dive or refund that is not in the booking terms.

Suitable travel insurance is required, including cover for your planned scuba diving, overseas medical treatment, emergency evacuation and cancellation. Check the policy’s depth, certification and activity conditions with the insurer.

You must complete the required dive medical screening and obtain medical clearance when indicated. Tell the team early about any issue that may affect participation; personal fitness-to-dive decisions belong with an appropriately qualified medical professional.

Have your passport, certification evidence, recent-dive information, insurance details and any required medical clearance ready. Check current passport and entry requirements for your nationality before buying flights; these are not the same for every traveller and can change.

Your pre-trip information and meeting cover the practical packing and gear arrangements. Include sun protection, swimwear, clothes for evenings and suitable dive equipment. Ask the team about current water conditions and a suitable wetsuit for you.

Tell us before paying about mobility needs, equipment handling, boat entries or anything else that might affect comfort and participation. We can check the actual boat and accommodation arrangements with the local team rather than promise facilities that may not be available.
