Boxing Day 2026 – 2 January 2027
Fly from Sydney on Boxing Day for seven nights, 10 guided boat dives and New Year in Vanuatu with the Abyss group. Return flights, airport transfers and shared accommodation are included, so this fixed festive departure brings the major travel arrangements into one package.
Flights are included, but do not make separate or connecting arrangements yet. Final flight times, airline details and baggage allowance will be confirmed after ticketing. Supplier rates and the package total remain subject to confirmation before payment.
The festive package
This is the Vanuatu choice for divers who want Boxing Day departure, the turn of the year with an Abyss group and the international travel included rather than arranged separately.
Final supplier itinerary: the airline, flight schedule, baggage allowance, cultural activities and exact order of the week will be confirmed in the final travel documents.
The fixed festive rhythm
The precise dive-site and activity order remains flexible, but the dates and purpose of this group holiday are clear.
Depart Sydney on Boxing Day, transfer from Port Vila Airport and settle into the accommodation with the group.
Five planned dive days provide two guided boat dives per day, with surface intervals and relaxed time back at the retreat.
Celebrate the change of year with the Abyss group. Any organised New Year’s Eve activity will be confirmed in the final itinerary.
The planned village visit and kava-bar evening sit around the diving, breakfast and time to relax by the pool.
Use the included airport transfer and return flight after the required pre-flight surface interval.
Flying after diving: the final dive schedule will protect the required pre-flight surface interval. Every diver must also follow their computer, personal limits and the trip team’s instructions.
The diving
The planned program explores the best suitable reefs around Havannah Harbour, Moso Island and north-west Efate. Depending on conditions, the terrain may include coral gardens, bommies, walls, gutters, ledges and guide-approved swim-through-style routes.
Dugongs and turtles live in the wider Havannah Harbour environment, but no wildlife encounter is included or guaranteed. The trip remains a complete New Year dive holiday without a sighting.
Suitability matters: this trip is for certified divers. Certification, recent diving, medical fitness and equipment needs must be confirmed with Abyss before departure.
Price, rooms and preparation
A$3,895
Per diver in shared accommodation, departing Sydney.
The advertised price uses a shared room. Ask Abyss for confirmation before assuming an alternative room, single occupancy or a non-diver arrangement is available.
Travel arrangements: the current package is coordinated by Dive Adventures, IATA No. 0234 1824. Abyss supports the group and Abyss Vanuatu provides the diving. Bookings are subject to the Dive Adventures Booking Terms and Conditions.
Before booking
Yes. Return flights from Sydney to Port Vila and applicable airline and Australian departure taxes are included in the current package. Final airline, flight times and baggage allowance will be confirmed after ticketing.
The package includes 10 guided boat dives over five planned dive days, single tanks, weights, dive-guide services and between-dive snacks. Nitrox fills are included for Nitrox-certified divers. Confirm any other equipment needs before travel.
Breakfast is included daily and snacks are provided between dives. A village visit and kava-bar evening are planned. Other meals, drinks and activities are included only when they appear in the final confirmed itinerary.
The fixed departure lets the Abyss group welcome 2027 together in Vanuatu. Any organised party, venue, dinner or other New Year’s Eve activity will be confirmed in the final itinerary rather than promised in advance.
No. Site selection follows weather, sea conditions, local advice and diver suitability. Dugongs, turtles and other wildlife are free-ranging; a dedicated encounter is not included and no sighting can be guaranteed.
Open the booking options, review the current package total and conditions, then pay the A$850 minimum deposit per person. Certification, recent diving, medical fitness and rooming must be confirmed with Abyss before departure.
