Andrew Beer is the welcoming face at Abyss Scuba Diving in Sydney. As Dive Shop Manager and a PADI Master Scuba Diver Trainer, he helps divers with course choices, equipment advice, training pathways and practical support before and after they get in the water.

He has helped hundreds of divers progress safely through Sydney diving, from shore entries and buoyancy practice through to deeper specialty dives, sidemount, nitrox, equipment care and shark conservation training.

Whether he is helping a new diver take their first breath underwater or guiding a certified diver toward their next specialty, Andrew focuses on building skills that make diving safer, easier and more enjoyable.
Andrew’s favourite Sydney dives reflect his love of marine life, conservation and practical diver development. He enjoys helping divers discover that Sydney has world-class diving close to home.
Beyond the shop and training pool, Andrew champions marine conservation through AWARE initiatives and community education. He enjoys showing divers how small actions — from careful finning to debris clean-ups — can help protect reefs, seagrass, marine animals and shark habitats.
His shark conservation focus is especially relevant to Sydney divers who visit sites such as Magic Point, where respectful diving practices help protect grey nurse sharks and preserve memorable encounters for future divers.
