Wei Wei

Wei Wei
Position: PADI Open Water Instructor
Water activities have always been Wei’s passion. Before becoming a diver, he travelled and snorkelled in some of the most iconic waters around the world, including the Maldives, Palau, Fiji, Indonesia, the Azores, and Hawaii. Despite a busy career as an electronic engineer and limited access to dive sites, Wei finally earned his Open Water certification in 2017 in the turquoise waters of Anilao, Philippines. From that moment forward, every holiday became a diving trip, and by 2019, Wei became a certified PADI Divemaster.
After an inspiring liveaboard experience in the Great Barrier Reef, Wei set his sights on becoming a PADI Instructor. Though his plans were delayed by COVID-19, he eventually joined the IDC program with Abyss Scuba Diving in 2023 and achieved his goal. Today, Wei is one of the three Chinese-speaking instructors on our team, helping make diving more accessible to a broader community.
Wei’s engineering background brings exceptional attention to detail and patience, allowing him to tailor his teaching style to each student's needs. During fun dives, his keen observation skills also help spot unique marine life and share those discoveries with fellow divers, making every dive with Wei educational and engaging.
