What Your Instructor Internship Package Includes
This is not just a deposit for a standard IDC. It is the first step into a structured instructor internship that adds teaching practice, dive centre immersion, career support and practical industry experience.
Core Professional Training Covered
The internship combines instructor-level certification training with practical teaching and dive industry experience.
If you already hold some instructor-level ratings or have unusual prior training, speak with us before booking so we can review the best pathway.
IDC vs Instructor Internship
Both pathways can lead to instructor certification, but they are not the same experience.
Standard IDC
Focuses on instructor development, standards, teaching presentations, confined water, open water and preparation for the Instructor Examination.
Dive Instructor Internship
Includes IDC preparation plus EFR Instructor training, team teaching, student certifications, shop experience, business workshops, resume support and job-placement guidance.
Before You Pay Your Deposit
This program is designed for divers who are already at leadership level and ready to move into instructor-level training. Contact us before booking if you are unsure whether you meet the requirements.
Professional Rating
You should be a PADI Divemaster, PADI Assistant Instructor or hold an equivalent qualifying leadership rating.
Certified Diver for 6+ Months
PADI IDC candidates must have been certified divers for at least six months before enrolling.
Logged Dives
You need at least 60 logged dives to start the IDC and 100 logged dives to attend the Instructor Examination.
Current Medical
You need a medical statement signed by a physician within the past 12 months.
EFR / CPR and First Aid
You need Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care training within the past 24 months, or you need to complete or refresh it before certification requirements are finalised.
Equipment and Materials
You need your own full dive gear, all previous certification records and required study materials. Tanks and weights are provided.
Need equipment?
Professional-level instructors should own their core equipment. Pro equipment packages are available from $2,392 AUD. Talk to us before booking if you need help choosing suitable professional gear.
