Diving For Exercise

Because of the current restrictions we have cancelled this activity

The activity of Scuba Diving does fall within the "reasonable excuse exception" to the stay-home order for the purpose of exercise pursuant to Section 5(2)(c)of the Public Health (COVID-19 Restrictions on Gathering and Movement). So you can go diving!

However, the other restrictions from the Public Health Order still apply. This would include the restrictions on gathering of more than 2 persons not from the same household.

People must stay in their Local Government Area or within 5km of home for exercise and outdoor recreation, with no carpooling between non-household members.

Other restrictions APPLY, including no more than 2 people not from the same household, keeping a minimum physical distance of 1.5m and no congregating after dives. Staying local is a major aspect of the restrictions.

Please note:

  • All divers must be vacinated against COVID-19. Proof of vaccination status is required.
  •  All bookings must be done online and paid for at the time of booking.
  • As different LGA's have different health order you must understand the heath order which applies to you and follow that order
  • Rental equipment is to be collected at the dive site 30 minutes prior to the dive.
  • Each diver must have their own transport.
  • For all cancellations, there is a $30 administration fee.
  • You will be provided with an online dive briefing to your phone the morning of the dive. This shall include a dive plan.
  • It is your responsibility to check the dive plan and dive within the limits of the plan.
  • Do not congregate
  • Collect your gear and gear up upon arrival
  • Only one buddy team at the entry point at a time
  • Ensure the 1.5m social distancing rule while above the water
  • A COVID face mask must be worn when not wearing your dive gear
  • Between dives, merely change your tanks and minimise your surface interval according to safe diving practices.
  • The success and continuation of this program depends on your adhering to these limitations

If you would like a divemaster to guide you around on an individual basis then we do offer this at a fee and you can book a Personal Divemaster for a fee.

Each buddy group will be emailed a briefing for the dive. The gear you have selected will be at the dive site, you do not need to come to the shop. It is important that each buddy pair try to use the allocated sites to ensure we meet social distancing and no-congregation requirements.
