Learning to dive in Cairns in 1992, Peter was an extremely nervous diver who once overcome the fears of diving, came addicted to the sport. He undertook a large number of courses becoming a Master Scuba Diver and then a Dive Master. He dive mastered on a regular basis for a number of years before becoming an SSI open water instructor in 1996 and then crossing over to a PADI open water instructor in 1997.

In 2000, Peter decided to leave the corporate world and open his own dive centre in Sydney (Abyss Scuba Diving). Peter opened  business opened with his daughter (Rachael Fallon) and the first diver he had ever trained (Kellie Oldfield).

Peter’s   passion for building a world quality PADI dive centre drove him to adopt and develop world best practice in the dive industry and gave him the impetus to turn hard work and inspiration into to a leading PADI dive centre.

In 2008 Peter traveled to the USA and trained to become a PADI Course Director. Since that time Peter played an important part in the development of PADI elearning, using social media to promote diving, and the expansion of Abyss’s Diving Careers program.

Peter was awarded Australian Underwater Products Legend Award in 2021 at which time he also retired from an active role in Abyss Scuba Diving, turning the day to day management over to his daughter, Rachael Fallon.
