A trip to Africa in late 2011, which ended with a week in Zanzibar, brought Katrine back to the world of diving in a big way. Once back in Melbourne she got her Advanced Open Water and took full advantage of all the amazing pier and wall dives down there. In 2014 Katrine moved back to Sydney but it was after a trip to Sipadan, Malaysia in 2016 that Katrine knew she had to find a way to dive ALL the time and so she become a Dive Master and has been working with Abyss on a casual basis ever since.

Katrine loves all things to do with the ocean but underwater is her ultimate happy place and she’s always excited to get below the waves. She loves the big stuff – sharks, rays, seals, whales and really big fish, loves a fast current, wrecks and tech diving but her favourite dives are the ones where she’s hunting for the little critters – her all-time favourite being the frogfish, though she was pretty excited to find a Rhinopia Scorpion Fish on a recent trip to the GBR.

Katrine is a keen traveller she has spent several years backpacking in different parts of the world, so her ultimate joy is to combine her two great loves of travel and diving. She has done the majority of her dive trips in Asia (Malaysia, Indonesia, PNG, Philippines, Cambodia and Vietnam) Her favourite place so far is Komodo in Indonesia.

When she’s not diving she works for herself (after a long corporate career) as an Organisational and Executive Coach and HR Consultant and spends the remainder of her spare time sailing and enjoying time with friends and family.
