Wei Wei

Water activities have always been the passion of Wei. Before joining the diver community, Wei travelled and snorkelled in some of the most prestigious waters around the world, such as the Maldives, Palau, Fiji, Indonesia, Azores and Hawaii. Between his busy day job as an electronic engineer and the long travel distance to the nearest dive site, he couldn’t manage to become a certified diver till 2017 in the warm and turquoise water at Anilao, the Philippines. Since then, Wei has dedicated every holiday to diving and became a PADI Dive Master in 2019.

After his liveaboard experience in the Great Barrier Reef, the idea of being a PADI instructor came across Wei’s mind, and he decided to move to Australia to become one. The plan was interrupted by COVID. In 2023, Wei finally joined the IDC programme with Abyss three years later and became a PADI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Wei is also one of the three Chinese-speaking instructors at Abyss Scuba Diving.

Wei’s attention to detail and extra patience come from his engineering background, allowing him to identify students' individuality and train them in the way that suits them. It also allows him to spot interesting hidden creatures during fun dives and share with others, which offers extra fun diving with Wei.
