Shell Harbour - Shore Dive

This will be a great dive with a heap of marine life, schools of fish and maybe even the odd grey nurse shark. Shell harbour is an hour drive south of the dive centre. So for this dive we leave Abyss at 8am (please be here at 7.30am to collect gear) do the 2 dives and generally get back around 4pm. If conditions make the planned site unsuitable, then another site will be selected for the dive.Transport is not included for this dive.
Join us for a phenomenal dive at Shell Harbour, located just an hour's drive away from our Dive Centre! We'll have abundant marine life and schools of fish to explore as well as the possibility of spotting some gray nurse sharks. Our journey begins at 7:30am when you collect your gear, after which we will leave Abyss promptly at 8am and return around 5pm. Please note that if the weather conditions are unfavorable, then another site may be chosen instead. Lastly, please keep in mind that transport is not included with this experience.

for this one you need to be advanced certified.
Be at the shop 1 hour prior to departure to collect any gear hire.
On the northern side of Botany Bay this site is a nice easy dive with beautiful colourful sponge gardens on a wall from 17m to 24m. Expect
to see loads and loads of colour on this dive with heaps of bright
pokemon (sea tulips) with lots of ledges to look under and fish to
greet you. From schooling old wives to port jackson sharks and of
course some beautiful nudibranch this site is a must do. Remember your
torch for this dive as it will bring the colours out at depth and
allow for you to check out all the over hangs.
This one is best to do on an incoming or close to high tide to get the
best visibility.

Leap to Steps - Shore Dive

For this dive you must be confident in the water. This site is one of our favourites and is usually conducted as a drift dive with the incoming tide. It is a bit of a clif walk down, you need to be confident in the water. Step off the rocks into the big blue and let your self be taken along the wall, looking for weedy seadragons, rays and Pj’s. Its always good to get to the site early to get set up and then park your car at the exit point. The second dive will be held at The Steps.

This dive site consists of a wall that runs north-south. The reef top is about 17 metres and it drops to 26 metres in spots. There can be a wealth of marine life including leatherjackets, silver sweep, small seapike, yellowtail and other fish. Keep your eyes open for overhangs and some small swim-throughs and arches.
